Mastering The Exit Gauntlet: A Book, and a Friendship Worth Celebrating

There are business relationships, and then there are friendships built through years of mutual respect, encouragement, and shared experiences.
There are business relationships, and then there are friendships built through years of mutual respect, encouragement, and shared experiences. This week I received a thoughtful package from Christine Slocumb after having the chance to endorse her new book, Mastering The Exit Gauntlet, and I was genuinely grateful.
Christine is someone I’ve known and respected for a long time. She brings a rare mix of strategic clarity, honesty, and empathy to the work she does with founders and agency leaders, and that comes through clearly in this book. It’s practical, candid, and grounded in real experience — the kind of perspective that helps leaders think differently about how they build.
I was honored to be included on the cover, but even more than that, I’m thankful for Christine’s friendship and the way she continues to show up for people with generosity and authenticity. If you’re an agency owner — or any founder who wants to build with a street-smart eye toward long-term value and an eventual exit — this is a book worth having on your desk.
Christine — thank you for the kind gift, for including me in this project, and most of all for the friendship. I’m excited to see this book get into the hands of more leaders who can benefit from it.
